The Lukács Archive International Foundation (LAIF) is appalled by the news that the government has condemned yet another scientific research group, the 1956 Institute, to closure. The integration into the pro-government Veritas Institute will inevitably lead to its dissolution: the current researches will discontinue and the source materials of the Oral History Archive will be in danger of being mishandled. The LAIF stands in solidarity with the researchers of the 1956 Institute, and joined to the call of solidarity of the Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives.
